Dosing

DOSAGE:
Weight (lb) - Drops per dose:
*1-20 lbs - 5 drops
Over 20 lbs - 2 drops
*<1lb add 2 drops to 8 oz of water, give 2 drops of medicated water per dose

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

  • Dose medicine in the mouth, at meal/snack time, or in drinking water
  • Administer one dose 3 times daily when dosing via mouth or at meal/snack time. If in water, allow animal access throughout the day. Change water daily
  • In acute cases one dose can be given every 15 minutes, up to 4 doses, then switch to 3 times daily. Use a dropper to dose the correctly diluted medicine.Use dosing grid below for correct dilution
  • As improvement occurs reduce dosing to twice daily, then once daily. Stop use when symptoms subside; repeat original dose if they return

ADMINISTRATION: ADMINISTRATION: Optimally, the liquid preparation should be dropped directly onto the mucous membrane of the mouth, including lips. Where an animal finds this distressful or an owner is unable to comply, the medication can be put in the water. In the case that a pet is sensitive to the odor of the alcohol preservative, a 10 to 20 minute period should be allowed for the alcohol to evaporate before the liquid or food is presented to the patient. Occasionally, when dosed directly into the mouth, the animal may shake their head as a response to the alcohol preservative.

For severe cases oral rehydration fluid can be medicated to the above dilution and given to the patient orally, taking care to avoid aspiration of the fluid into the respiratory tract by the patient. For acute cases it can be repeated as in the previous dosing section.

ADVERSE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS: None known, other than reversible effect of overdose. Overdose may result in a return of symptoms after the symptoms have initially disappeared. In the case where a return of symptoms occurs while on the medication, ceasing to use it will alleviate the effect. Patients who are hypersensitive to homeopathic preparations will show a response to a single dose, which may not need to be repeated for some time.
